AMATEUR RACKING HORSE ASSOCIATION
2011 Membership Form
The Amateur Racking Horse Association has been around for a long time. In fact, I was surprised to learn that the actual Charter was signed September 21, 1988.
The purpose of the ARHA, as stated in that Charter, is to “Generally promote the Amateur status throughout the Racking Horse industry and encourage the growth of that industry.”
Here we are 22 years later and still chugging right along promoting our Amateur status and doing all we can to assist in the growth of the Racking Horse.
Most of you know us from our trailer raffle. You are bombarded by our members to buy tickets each year. What would you do if you did not see Bill Sensing, Shannon Cotter, Bob and Jamie Gullic and others at the table by the arena entrance selling those tickets?
You may not, however, be aware of where the money goes from our efforts. We have contributed $1000 each year to the RHBAA to sponsor Amateur classes at the Spring and Fall Shows. We give $200 for Amateur sponsorships for each State Championship show that makes a request. We have donated to the Pro Trainers show and the Shelbyville Classic.
So you see that by supporting us, you are again supporting the Racking Horse industry across the board.
We do occasionally refer to ourselves just as the Amateur Association; however, our “AA” meetings are quite different from the other “AA” meetings, I can assure you. We are not trying to quit an addiction – but continue one – and welcome any others who wish to join us.
You can help us with our efforts to continue the 21 year old tradition by 1) joining us; or 2) buying raffle tickets; or 3) buying one of our prints; or finally 4) just by supporting the RHBAA.
Thanks to all of you for being there.
