Dear All,

I guess this will be one way of my communicating with you about Mike.  He had a motorcycle accident last night.  Lance was with him, in front, and did not see what happened.  All we know is that Lance looked up to see Mike's bike going by him and turned around and saw his dad on the pavement.  They were, of course, riding without helmets.  Lance immediately called 911 and probably saved his life.  Mike was air-evacced to Cape Girardeau to the trauma unit at St. Francis hospital.  He is stable at this time.  He does have damage to his head, some blood leaking, but they have now done 2 cat scans and feel that it is a minimal bleed.  He also has a broken shoulder blade and collar bone, 3 or 4 ribs broken and the worst injury, I feel, is his right wrist is broken pretty badly. The other injuries are on his left side.  So, for a long time he will be helpless for use with his arms.   He is right handed.

Mike will remain in intensive care until they feel his head has stabilized.  He will probably be at the hospital for up to a week.

I will be in touch.  If you want to get me, call my cell phone:  618-697-2310.
