Ladies Auxiliary Minutes

February 16, 2007

Meeting was called to order by our President, Nicole Rehkemper.

Glenda Barrow, Treasurer, gave the treasury report.  She handed out a Financial Statement to everyone and as of February 16, 2007, we have $1,665.68.  Peggy Carroll made a motion to accept and Tanya Parsons-Beaver second.  Motion passed.

Nicole Rehkemper read the Secretary report from the meeting on September 27, 2006.  Crystal Taylor made a motion to accept and Angie Etheredge second.  Motion passed.

At our last meeting we had a discussion about having a costume parade on Friday night at the Fall Celebration.  We continued this discussion and decided that Kathy Huff would head up this committee with the help of some new members from the Decatur area.  We will advertise in local papers that we are going to let children go to participation barns on Friday, September 28^th and have a “Trick or Treat”.  Lanette Toler made a motion to table this discussion until the meeting at the Spring Celebration at which time Kathy Huff would be in attendance.  Ava Odum second and motion was passed.

Kasey Dumas explained that she would like to change the way we do the Barn Beautification project.  She has been talking to local landscapers and thinks they would be willing to have a decorating contest among themselves.  We would charge each landscaping company a fee.  Each landscaper would coordinate with the people in the barns to determine how to decorate and the winner would receive an undetermined amount of money.    We are thinking about also charging each barn an undetermined amount to enter into the contest.  Everyone needs to think more about this idea and we will discuss in greater detail at our next meeting.

Nicole explained to everyone that we needed to select 3 candidates to enter into the draw for judges for the Spring Celebration.  After voting we selected Ross Cambell, Kelly France and Billy Strickland.  These names were given to the judges committee to be entered into the hat with all the other names from each organization and the general membership.  The judges will be drawn at the General Membership meeting on Saturday, February 17^th.

Our next meeting will be Thursday, April 25^th at 10:30 am in the Board Room.
